We are moving (again!) very soon. In a couple of weeks. I'm excited about it. For the first time in nearly 2 years, I will be able to make a place feel like home for the 3 of us. I have been looking forward to this for what seems like a long long while. Yet living like nomads out of our suitcases with our baby boy has taught me a lot. It has helped me look clearly at my priorities, taught me that even if it seemed like we didn't have much (on a materialistic level), we still had a lot more than most people in the world. First of all we always had a roof above our heads, whether it was a large one or a tiny one, a happy one or a not so happy one and we always were safe. That alone is having A LOT already. And a little reminder is always good. It has taught me to appreciate with an even greater importance all the little things we have. Taught me that more doesn't make life any better, I mean for real. And last but not least, it has taught me that really, babies, even newborns, do not need much at all. They do not need the fancier cradle, they do not need an extended wardrobe, they do not need a 4 wheel drive stroller. Love really is the answer.
I was just really looking forward for the moment we wouldn't have to think about our next move right when we'd be moving-in. Looking forward to making our little nest. We are about to move into a studio. A large studio. And what might have seemed too small for a quite cluttered family of 3 a couple of years ago seems like a great beautiful open space which I am so excited to turn into our home. I haven't done any home-shopping, I am waiting for us to settle there and see what we do really need. But we do know that a few chairs will be on our list so I was Holly Molly so happy to come across what I think is a pretty pretty chair this morning at a little pop-up store in the jungle of Maui. Cheap & foldable, perfect for our studio space (remember it's hard to find cute furniture on the island! Not Paris here.)
Cherishing little treasures.

You are so right about love!! And I love that chair!
Living in tiny spaces is kind of a game, just like living in Tetris world!!
I'm still using my foldable cardboard stool that my smart sister gave me quite a long time ago when I was living in my 9 square meter room in Paris!
It is still very usefull when having some friends spending the evening in my tiny tiny courtyard... :)
