Don't you sometimes wish you were born in another era? I do. For the sake of soul and rock'n'roll. How F amazing must have been the 60's. The Stones, Pink Floyd, Dylan, The Doors, Nina, Aretha, to name just a very famous few. The time when there were no computers, no cellphones to be found in a recording room, let alone on stage! Yes I'd be quite an older lady today but hell yeah (!) I would have loved it.
I just found awebsite that is releasing a concert of the Doors every week-end for 8 weeks to watch for free, started Feb20th. I can't really afford to spend an hour or so right now watching a concert on my laptop but I do love it as a podcast while working.
This guy did not spend a lifetime procrastinating. 27 years is what he had. Iconic is what he's become.
I remember walking by his grave in the beautiful Parisian cemetery of Père Lachaise, I was a teenager. The boy I was with that day started to send me beautifully hand-writted letters, all the way to the boarding school I was attending. There were cigarettes burns on the papers and enveloppes, the letters were dark, not scary, dark, he was a tortured young Parisian boy. One day the letters stopped. I never heard of him again. Always wondered what had happened. I started listening to the Doors and their Iconic Jim Morrison.
