A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2016
Manech : I am anticipating a lot of 'tractor' portraits this year. I am going to need to keep my eyes alert in order to add variety to the farming vibe.
Belly : 35 weeks. This isn't technically a self-portrait (obviously not) but here's what it took in order for me to get the shot :
-First, opening my eyes before Manech did. High five to me!
-Realizing how sweet of a portrait this could be.
-Getting hubby's attention without waking the little monkey up : finger snapping did the trick.
-Miming what I was expecting from him. Again, without moving too much.
-Getting the rolled-eyes look from hubby, like "really?"
-Giving him the angry-wife look when he shows up with his smartphone to take the shot when the lighting really isn't phenomenal.
-Sending him back to grab my camera.
-Miming, again, the frame I expect for the photo.
-Another angry-wife look when he starts shooting from the side of the bed.
-Another rolled-eyes look from hubby when he understands I want him to shoot from above, meaning he needs to step on the bed. W i t h o u t waking Manech's up.
-A couple clicks
-A thumb up
-Some editing magic
-And I have the shot I envisioned!
-clap clap clap
So while it isn't technically a self-portrait as in 'you hold the camera and press the button yourself ', I do want to take credit for it. Ha! Can't wait for the last rolled-eyes look I am going to get when awesome (always flatter a little) hubby will read this. If he does. He will.
