A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2016
The truth is, I almost gave up on taking a belly-portrait this week. While I love documenting others, taking a photo of myself is nothing close to being natural. Then I remembered how rewarding it is to keep up with a bit of discipline, being able to look back at a year worth of worthy-photos, being able to flip through pages with the kids (you know, in the winter, by the fire place, with a hot chocolate listening to xmas carols while ginger cookies are baking. right. More likely a Johnny Cash tune because that's how cool we are around our home and don't get me started with Neil Diamond. No jokes.)
Just to say there was no way I could give up after just a month of photos + I am really only just a few weeks aways from this belly-balloon of mine to be turned into the most precious newborn portrait and I do hope this will keep you excited for a bit and help forgive my narcissistic-self for showing off some fatty skin.
On the other hand, here you are, my boy, cracking us up as you completely spaced your helmet while racing onto your high chair to devour some well deserved cereals. The light was pretty darn dramatic and I was able to capture this precious portrait. It looks like you could be seating in your very own spaceship, waiting for some countdown to start and pffffffffffffff through the roof and to the moon you'd go.
(And yes, I was told today that pregnant women's brain look like cottage cheese. This should excuse whatever I end up writing here for the next few weeks...month!).
