A portrait of my children once a week, every week, in 2016
Aaaaah notice the slight title difference here?!
I never questioned the fact that I would go on with this project in 2016. One of the best project I started in a while - along with a baby, I guess - I am loving looking back at the portraits shot throughout 2015. Having saved high quality-ready-to-print-photos every week for an entire year makes it so much easier to actually put a little photo book together.
I also realized over the Holiday that I literally had only 2, maybe 3 photos of me pregnant this time around (last one being already a couple month old). While expecting Manech, I was a lot more into documenting my pregnancy and changing body, which I guess is pretty natural with a first pregnancy. This time though, time has gone by so fast, exhaustion has taken over so much of my energy that I haven't put much thought about capturing what might very well be my last pregnancy ( I know never say never but realistically..that's what it feels like!). A few messages from a few girlfriends from France asking for photos have kicked my expanding butt to take action.
I am starting this year's 52 project by taking a portrait of Manech along with my changing body (read: fattening belly) until little bro or sis jumps out of it (my belly) and into our lives. He/She will then take over what could be gross skin left hanging (I'll work on the six-pack...yeah yeah).
I mean, why not make my weekly routines slightly busier, right?
No, I am seriously excited about this, I will have to get creative getting into an auto-portrait (also known as selfie) discipline.
I am already thankful for the one above. Manech seemed to find the idea pretty fun and I am excited about teaming up with him to create a pre-birth little album for baby.
So here we are, cheers to portrait #1 of 2016.
Manech : went to a birthday street party on Sunday. Late afternoon light is becoming my favorite to shoot with.
Belly : 31 weeks.
