That was then.
It was Sunday, July 12th. I was playing outside in the yard with Manech when I caught myself caressing my rather flat belly.
It wasn't an "I'm hungry" kinda caress. It was an acknowledgment caress of his/her presence within my own body. It was a bit of a shock because not on our radar but I knew a new life was starting. And this one was a very organic one rather than an online one. I fell deeply deeply in love right then, it was quite an extraordinary feeling.
Synchronicity wanted me to have my yearly OB appointment scheduled a couple of days later. This appointment had been postponed 4 times since February. Whether the OB was on call and had to rush to the hospital or her schedule had to be modified and my appointment pushed back, it seemed like the universe had decided I should wait a little for my check up.
I didn't say a word of my deep feeling to Gurvan. I kept it a little secret. We had decided to wait until next year before growing our family.
Tuesday July 14th, the nurse greets me "finally you got your appointment!" and I go "yeaaah can I get a pregnancy test, please? " and she says "...uh sure". Comes back all smile : "it's positive! You're pregnant...!"
July 14th is our French National Day known as our Bastille Day and chances are that right at that moment, tons of fire works went on everywhere in France. How cool and romantic one's mind can be.
We had a barbecue with friends that night, I hadn't had a chance to tell Gurvan yet which gave me a chance to have my last couple of beers quietly without feeling too guilty. I was about 6 weeks pregnant.
Thursday the 16th of July I hit the publish button on my happy-bandits of Hawaii website thinking if we are going to have a new baby, I'd better get to work now. FEAR FREE remember? Fear Free it will be then. Launching your very first little biz the very same week you find out you're pregnant? Fear Free.
Because it's our life as a family that we are shaping right now. No one else's life.
No need to say that with the launch of my tattoo collaborative project, the news of our new baby to be, the move to our new home, and the exhausted & nauseous weeks that came with the start of my pregnancy, the summer went by in a heart beat, there were times when I didn't know how to handle all of this but hey! I'm still here, stocked for the support and connections I have made through this little blog, and so so so ready to rock'n roll ! Seriously. Working on a few different projects again, already re-stocking stores with tattoos, picturing what our life will be made of and working hard towards achieving every single one of our dreams.
Make it our reality.
